El Alba Resort moves closer to major expansion as next building phase approaches

Construction is continuing at pace at the El Alba Mediterranean Resort in Torre Pacheco, with developers preparing to move into the next major phase of the large-scale residential project that will eventually include more than 1,000 homes.

The development, located near Roldán in the Region of Murcia, has become one of the area’s most significant housing projects in recent years, attracting growing interest from both Spanish buyers and international investors looking for modern homes close to the Mar Menor and Murcia’s golf resorts.

Developers behind the project say significant progress has already been made, with several residential phases completed and additional properties currently under construction. The resort is planned to include around 1,050 homes once fully finished, alongside landscaped green areas, leisure facilities and commercial spaces.

Unlike many traditional urbanisations, El Alba has been designed with a focus on open spaces and low-density living. Large sections of the resort will be dedicated to gardens, walking areas and recreational zones aimed at creating a more relaxed residential environment.

One of the key attractions within the development is the recently introduced leisure complex featuring swimming pools, sports courts, restaurant facilities and social spaces designed for residents and visitors.

The project is also expected to provide an economic boost to the surrounding area, generating construction employment as well as long-term jobs linked to maintenance, hospitality and future retail activity.

Property professionals say demand for homes in the development has remained strong due to Murcia’s growing popularity among overseas buyers seeking affordable homes in sunny coastal regions of Spain.

The resort’s location close to Murcia International Airport, beaches and several golf courses has also helped increase its appeal among second-home buyers and retirees.

After facing delays during previous economic downturns, the project is now moving forward steadily, with developers confident that future construction phases will continue to attract interest as Murcia’s property market remains active.

Local officials believe the expansion of El Alba could further strengthen Torre Pacheco’s position as one of the fastest-growing residential areas in the Region of Murcia over the coming years.
